Community Meal

At St. Dunstan's we prepare and host a self-serve buffet dinner every Tuesday evening from 5pm to 6:30pm. All are welcome to join the community and be fed.
We invite everyone, no matter where they find themselves in life
or in their spiritual journey, to come and share a meal.

One of the things that sets our dinner apart is that from the very beginning we have always served food buffet style so that guests can serve themselves.

The community meal offers good food and fellowship to both the guests who come to eat and the volunteers who come to prepare and serve. Our volunteers include folks from the church, from the neighborhood, and others who have found a place to belong. We honor all contributions and appreciate all gifts.

“There’s a salad, there’s hot food, there’s gravy, there’s tasty wholesome food that you’re welcome to pile it on as much as you can because, if that’s what it takes to make you feel human…for two hours…I’ve done my job.”

     - Josef Hinkofer, founding chef

Come Volunteer With Us!

If you would like an opportunity to make a difference in north Seattle and Shoreline, come volunteer with us! No religious affiliation or prior experience is needed. You can come one time or every week.  Stay all day or just roll up your sleeves for an hour or so. We give each new volunteer an orientation to our program and partner them with someone who can show them how to do the work.

Weekly volunteer roles include:

  • Setting up tables

  • Food prep

  • Delivery driver

  • Meal service host

  • Dishwashing

  • General clean up and tear down

We acknowledge that we meet on the unceded, traditional land of the Coast Salish Peoples, specifically the first people of Seattle, the Duwamish People, original stewards of the land, past and present. We honor with gratitude the land itself and the Duwamish Tribe.
