The Grapefruits Duo

Coco Bender, piano, and Margarite Waddell, horn, make up The Grapefruits Duo: a contemporary and classical music duo. They present [offer] eclectic and engaging concerts with a focus on commissioned pieces by Pacific Northwest composers, rarely heard 20th century works, and traditional pieces from the horn and piano repertoire. This concert opens with the sparkling classical era sonata by Nikolaus von Krufft, followed by new work by Portland composer Christina Rusnak (commissioned for The Grapefruit Duo). Next is a love waltz from the Empire Sonata by Black American composer H. Leslie Adams and finally, a zippy cannon by 20th century composer Jean Francaix. Additionally, Coco will perform solo piano works by Christina Rusnak and by H. Leslie Adams. Join the zestiest duo in the Pacific Northwest for this fantastic concert!
